The Goodnotes note-taking app is becoming increasingly popular in companies. With Cortado, you can make the app available to your users together with the license key.
Aim
The goal is to push the Goodnotes app (incl. license key) with a managed configuration to the iOS/iPadOS devices of your users. If you only have a license key for version 5, we will also show you how to downgrade the current version of Goodnotes to version 5.
Implementation
- Select in the Administration Portal Administration→ Apps.
- First add the Goodnotes app once (as an app from the Apple Business Manager or as an app from the App Store) and then select it (arrow in illus.).
- Then select Managed Configurations→ Create.
- Then select the platform Apple.
License key for version 6 of Goodnotes
If you have a license key for version 6 of Goodnotes, proceed as follows:
- Name: Enter a name for your configuration (upper arrow in illus.).
- Select app: Select the Goodnotes app (middle arrow in illus.).
- Key/Type/Value: Enter LicenseKey under Key, select the type String and add your license key under Value (lower arrow in illus.).
- Save your configuration.
License key for version 5 of Goodnotes
If you have a license key for version 5, you must also downgrade from Goodnotes 6 to Goodnotes 5. To do this, a second pair of values must be entered in the managed configurations.
- Name: Enter a name for your configuration (upper arrow in illus.).
- Select app: Select the Goodnotes app (middle arrow in illus.).
- Key/Type/Value:
- Enter LicenseKey under Key, select the type String and add your license key under Value.
- Also enter the key GoodnotesVersion, the type Integer and the value 5 (lower arrow in illus.).
- Save your configuration.
Now both the managed configuration and the app itself must be distributed to the users/groups.
- To do this, select the configuration in the overview (left arrow) and click on Assign (right arrow).
- Then select users or groups and confirm with OK.
Note! You can also assign the Managed Configurations under Administration→ Users or Groups (see section Assigning to users or groups).
- After you have assigned the Managed Configurations to the users/groups, you need to distribute the app itself (including the Managed Configurations) to the users or groups.
