In the Cortado administration portal, you can create a variety of profiles and policies for the users of your Apple devices. However, some profiles and policies are not yet available in Cortado. These can be created in Apple Configurator for Mac and then distributed via the Cortado management portal. We will show you how to do this in this article.
Aim
In this how-to article, you will learn how to create policies or profiles using Apple Configurator and then upload them to the Cortado management portal and distribute them to your users.
Implementation
- Download Apple Configurator onto your Apple Mac. The configurator can be downloaded for free from the Mac App Store.
- Start Apple Configurator and click on File then select New Profile.
- Switch to General and fill in the required fields. Under Security, make sure to select always.
- For Automatically Remove→ Profile select Never.

- Go to Restrictions and configure the profile to your preferences.

- Under Title, select and save a descriptive name for the profile.

- The configuration file is now ready to be imported.
- Open the Cortado Administration Portal and select Administration→ Policies.
- Create a new policy (left arrow in illus.) and then click on iOS/iPadOS Using Apple Configurator (right arrow in illus.).

- Upload your IPCU profile.

- After importing, you can distribute the policy to groups, users or devices.
