This article gives you an overview of the Files menu item in the Cortado app for Android.
Note! This feature is only available to customers with a Pro or Enterprise plan.
Download files to your Android device
Open files in other managed apps
Files in the Cortado app
- On the start page of the Cortado app, select the menu item Files (arrow in left illus.). Here you will find all the files that your administrator has made available to you (right illus.).
Mark files as favorites
- You can mark files as favorites by swiping them to the right.
- You will then find your favorites at the top of the list.
- To remove the file from the favorites again, swipe it to the left.
Download files to your Android device
You can download your files to your Android device and then open and edit them in other apps.
- As soon as you tap a file, it is downloaded to your device.
- On devices with a work profile (BYOD), you can find your downloaded files in the Files app of the business profile (right illus.).
- Tap the download button at the top of the menu bar to download all files at once (arrow in left illus.).
Delete downloaded files
- To remove a downloaded file from the device, swipe the file to the left (arrow in left illus.).
- If you want to delete all downloaded files from your device at once, tap the Download button in the top right-hand corner of the menu bar and then tap Remove all files (arrow in right illus.). The files will then be available for you to download again. They will only be deleted from your device from the Files app, but not from the Cortado app.
Open files in other managed apps
You can open your downloaded files in other managed apps and continue editing them there. On devices with a work profile (BYOD), you can find your managed apps in the business profile. You can recognize work apps by the briefcase in the app icon.
- Tap on one of your downloaded files (example in the illus.). You will be offered a range of managed apps in which you can open your file (right illus.).
Note! After downloading a single file, you are immediately offered the managed apps to open the file.
It may happen that not all apps that are eligible for further processing are displayed. In this case, proceed as follows:
- Open the managed Files app (left illus.). You will find your downloaded files in the Cortado folder under Documents (middle illus.).
- Tap on your file (example in the middle illus.). Further apps with which you can open your file are displayed here (example in the right illus.).
Sort and search for files
You can open the sorting option via the right button in the menu bar (highlighted in the image on the left). There you have the option of sorting your files by name, size or date, in ascending or descending order (left image).
You can also use the search function via the magnifying glass in the menu bar (upper arrow in right illus.). Enter the file name in the search field. The searched files will be displayed then (lower arrow in right illus.).
