You can create an Access Point Name (APN) for the mobile network here. The APN determines the network path for all mobile network data connections. This usually occurs automatically and is only necessary if you require special access points for the mobile network. Contact your mobile service provider for details.
Note! This option is not available for devices that have been embedded via User Enrollment.
- First proceed as described here.
- Select Cellular as the profile that you want to add. The following dialog will open:
Make the following settings:
- Profile name: Enter a name for the profile here.
- Configure APN type: For your profile, select either Default APN, Data APN or both types simultaneously.
- Default APN:
- Default APN name: Enter the name for the access point here.
- Default APN authentication type: Select the authentication protocol to be used here (PAP oder CHAP).
- Default APN username: Enter the user name for authentication here.
- Default APN password: Enter the password for authentication here.
- Data APN:
- Data APN name: Enter the name for the access point here.
- Data APN authentication type: Select the authentication protocol to be used here (PAP oder CHAP).
- Data APN username: Enter the user name for authentication here.
- Data APN password: Enter the password for authentication here.
- Data APN proxy server address and port: Enter the address of your proxy server and the port here.
- Allowed protocol mask: Select which internet protocols will be supported (IPv4, IPv6 or both).
- Allowed protocol mask in roaming: Select which internet protocols will be supported when roaming (IPv4, IPv6 or both).
- Allowed protocol mask in domestic roaming: Select which internet protocols will be supported for domestic roaming (IPv4, IPv6 or both).
- Enable XLAT464 (iOS/iPadOS 16 and later): 464XLAT is an IPV4-IPv6-IPv4 transition method for use in IPv6-only networks. It allows computers in IPv6 networks to access Internet services that are only accessible via IPv4.
Now you can distribute the newly created profile to users/groups/devices.
- To do this, select the desired profile in the left-hand column of the Administration Portal and click Assign.
- Now select the users, groups or devices to whom you want to assign this profile.
Note! You can also assign the profiles under Administration→ Users or Groups.
